The project is organised in 7 work packages as follows:
WP1: Flight Deck Architecture
Work package 1 jointly defines the flight deck concept. From this definition a flight deck design will be developed identifying requisite elements, displays, networks, processing along with interface specifications, standards, and performance requirements.
WP2: Technology Options Study
Taking the flight deck architecture and top level design from WP1, the technology options study will identify technologies to meet the functional and performance needs specifically.
WP3: Development
The development work package will take the identified technologies and build prototype equipment for demonstration and evaluation in the simulator environment.
WP4: Evaluation
Work package 4 will integrate the sub-systems developed in WP3 to form a flight deck environment using the simulators at both BAE Systems and GE Aviation. Support will be provided in the evaluation trials by Coventry University and University of Southampton for any human factors assessment.
WP5: Certification
Work package 5 considers the route to certification for the techniques, technologies and equipment developed within the programme.
WP6: UK Supply Chain Engagement
Work package 6 will identify and engage with key elements of the UK supply chain to help maintain the UK capability in flight deck systems.
WP7: Programme Management
